Buev's 190 Elephants
· Buev's 190 Elephants is an exclusive edition comprising 190 paintings by artist Valeriu Buev, each measuring 1 × 1.2 metres. A member of the Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques, Buev is known for his figurative works with abstract accents, impasto textures, strong contrasts, and expressive colour palettes. In his paintings, the human figure, melancholy, and recurring symbols such as the elephant and the snail merge organically with mechanical elements to create an improvised visual world.
He paints directly on canvas without preliminary sketches, and his works have been exhibited in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, France, Australia, Romania, and Moldova. They are also held in private collections and featured in online galleries. With a recognisable style, strong visual coherence, and a well-defined artistic identity, his works are equally suited to contemporary art collections and premium interiors, including boutique hotels and restaurants.
